Cara Landy started designing and creating handbags at the age of 14. During high school, a friend suggested that she show them to a boutique in their hometown of West Hartford, Connecticut. The owner of the boutique loved the bags and was impressed with Cara's level of creativity and sewing skills at such a young age. Without second thought she decided to take on Cara's first collection and sell them in her store.
Throughout high school and college, Cara continued to make each bag by hand. After graduating from the University of Rhode Island with an undergraduate degree in Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design, she turned all production over to a prestigious factory in New York City.
Today Cara is based in the heart of Manhattan’s Garment District.
